This is the BIGGEST platter I have ever seen!! This is a VILLEROY & BOCH RECTANGULAR PLATTER in the "ARTEMIS" pattern. OLD BACKSTAMP!! the "artemis" pattern was made up of various grey/black transferware hunting scenes. This platter has a scene of 2 rabbit hunters and their dogs with trees, grasses, mountains, clouds, birds, foxes, house in distance...VERY DETAILED!!..This platter measures an IMPRESSIVE 23 1/4 inches long by 10 1/4 inches wide!!! Table to edge is right at 2 1/4 inches. Some minor crazing on the front shows the age of the piece. With 1 very small age spot on the front right as seen in pics (it is very light and maybe 1/8 to 1/10 of an inch). Some minor spots on back foot w the glaze popped during the manufacturing process and some light use scrapes w it slid across a table. If you look at front under high powered light and tipped you can see a couple of very very light "knife marks" or use marks but only very few (2 maybe 3). This platter is in remarkable condition!!! I looked up the platter on replacements but they do not have one to price, the coffee pot is priced at 197.00 in this pattern so I can only imagine what they would price this platter at!!! EXTREMELY LOW START PRICE AND NO RESERVE!! I will have other offerings of this pattern, though I will not be able to combine shipping for the particular piece because of the shear size of it will take a special made box and very very careful packing!! It weighs a hefty 5 pounds!! I would highly recommend getting shipping insurance on this piece!! Happy Bidding!! I was told this platter is an extremely rare piece because of the size of it!! It just didnt "survive" through the years intact as this one has!! Don't let this one pass you by!!!
