For Auction.....This little Red Cross nurse from Vogue Doll Co. is from Vogue's Toddles line produced from 1937 through 1948. Most of the Toddles dolls were little girls, but a few were little boys. As these production years coincided with the years of World War II, some little boys and some little girls represented patriotic or military figures. This little nurse is eight inches tall, and she is wearing her original uniform. Her composition body is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. Both arms are bent, the right arm more so than the left. Collectors will know the significance of this information. Her facial complexion is perfect, as is her facial paint of eyebrows, upper eyelashes, eyes, lips, and cheeks. She is looking to the right. I see no crazing. Her left hand and fingers are perfect. Her right hand and fingers are also except for a small "hole" between her index finger and her middle finger. This place looks to me as if the composition just did not cover well on this spot or maybe formed a bubble which burst leaving a small area not sufficiently covered. It appears that something happened during production and that this place is not due to any type of damage.
