Up for auction today I have this REALLY GREAT set of W. H. Grindley & Co. English China. I Can't bear to piece this out so it will be sold as one lot with a low starting bid and NO RESERVE! All of these pieces have the stamp W.H. Grindley & Co. Ltd. IVORY England Reg. No. 714550 Unless otherwise noted in the descriptions below. I have carefully gone over every piece and cataloged the contents amounts and their conditions as follows..........so we go! Qty (12) Plates: 9" across (7) Good shape, shows normal utensil wear (1) hairline near center (2) Crazed w/ chip on rim (2) Crazed w/ chip on rim & back. These are also stamped DARTMOUTH Qty (12) Plates: 7" across (11) near mint (1) Crazed These are also stamped DARTMOUTH Qty (11) Soup Bowls: 8" (8) near mint (1) Crazed 1 chip bottom (2) Crazed 3 chips bottom Qty (6) Bowls: 5 1/2" (3) Good Shape (2) 2 Rim chip (1) 3 Rim chips and extra wear on outside rim. All 6 show extra wear on inside rim due to the nature of the design shape. Qty (1) Serving? Bowl: 10" at widest Crazed no chips. Also stamped DARTMOUTH Qty (1) Sm. Bowl: 5 1/2" 3 spots inside bottom (manufacture flaws?) Qty (8) Cups: (5) near mint (1) very sm bottom rim chip (1) Top rim chip (1) 2 very tiny top rim chips Qty (13) Saucers: (11) Excellent Condition (2) Have items of note I think are manufacture flaws. Qty (1) Oblong Serving Platter: 12 3/4" at widest Crazed no chips Qty (1) Oblong Serving Platter: 10 3/4" at widest Excellent Condition Qty (2) Oblong Serving Bowls: 10 1/8" at widest (1) Excellent Condition (1) approx 2" hairline travels from rim to near bottom Qty (1) Oblong Serving Bowl: 8 3/4" at widest Excellent near mint. Qty (1) Gravy Boat: Excellent mint condition. This stamp says Sheraton Ivory U.S. Pat. 071528 Qty (1) Sugar Bowl w/ Lid: Excellent near mint condition. Only has a tiny rough spot on bottom of one foot. Also bears stamp of Sheraton Ivory and U.S Pat. 071528 and again U.S. Pat 071528 in GOLD Qty (1) Creamer: Excellent mint Condition, Cannot find anything wrong with this piece. Bears same stamp as the Sugar bowl. See pictures! Winning bidder will only be charged actual shipping charges (USPS parcel post unless otherwise specified) plus $5.50 Handling. Insurance will also be required and calculated at the close of this auction. (Its also a good idea!) This set has been handled with care for MANY MANY years and it will be expertly packed by myself, either for shipment to your home or back into storage. This is a one time offer and will not be relisted.
