Collector's Take Notice - A rare item up for highest bid, No reserve Auction! Authentic Walker's "Excelsior" IV Electric Log - Made in England by Walker & Son Ltd. - Birmingham This naval log is how one measured rate of speed. Throw the rotator overboard attached to a line and read the “Log Register”. The log comes housed in the original box with instructions. Original paper label attached to the interior lid of the pine wood box presents company's origin - Thomas Walker & Son, Ltd., 58, Oxford Street, Birmingham, Eng. A wiring diagram is present along with meticulous instructions: Instructions for Wiring Log Current Instructions for Streaming the Log Hauling In Oiling Setting of Hands Testing Speed The "CONTENTS OF BOX" section has been revised on the label, from what would appear to be original hand notations. "Register (Sling Pattern); 2 Rotators; 2 Steel Hooks; 250 ft. Line and Sinker; 1/2 pint Tin of Oil; spare Glass." The "SUPPLIED SEPARATELY" section continues with notations; "Wheel House Repeater, with Resistance for 24 volts;" At the bottom of these two sections you see "CHECKED BY" with the name " Ron" handwritten.
