Vintage Wash Basin & Pitcher
I bought this at a garage sale from an elderly lady who said she'd had it for years. I have no idea of the age and couldn't find out anything relevant about the mark on bottom. The bowl and pitcher are grey-white in color and have what appears to be a grape motif. The bowl is approximately 15 1/4" in diameter (48" around) and stands 3 1/2" tall. The pitcher stands 10 1/4" tall and is 24" around at its widest point. They are quite substantial and weigh almost 10 lbs together. The basin is incised "Calif USA 499" on the bottom. The pitcher is incised "USA" on bottom. It was rather difficult trying to get a clear picture of these marks but hopefully you will be able to make it out. Although t are no chips or cracks, t is a lot of crazing to both pieces. I think the pictures do a good job of pointing this out. I am no expert on pottery, but I will try to answer any questions you might have. Now, comes the very boring, BUT extremely important follow on information ( Please read in its entirety prior to bidding )... Please check out all pictures & ask any questions prior to bidding as t is no return policy for changing one's mind. I do offer a full, money-back guarantee (minus shipping & handling) if it is determined I have grossly misrepresented an item's condition. But keep in mind, most of the items I sell are previously owned and will most likely show normal wear & tear. Also, I am not an expert on all things vintage or antique. I must rely on what information is given to me by the previous owner. Should you have a problem, I would appreciate the opportunity to correct it prior to the posting of negative feedback. In turn, I will do the same. Also, please be aware that I am a smoker and tfore items I've had in my home for long periods of time may initially have a cigarette odor. PAYMENT INFORMATION (US CUSTOMERS) PayPal, Certified Money Orders, Bank Cashiers Checks, and Personal Checks (personal checks must clear prior to item's shipment - usually 10 business days). (INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS) PayPal only. No exceptions. SHIPING INFORMATION I usually ship within 3 days of confirmed payment. I ship via the most economical & safe means to the customer. I am extremely diligent & spare no costs when it comes to safely packing an item for shipment, insuring said item and purchasing confirmation of shipment. I have undercharged in these areas on numerous occasions, sometimes negating any profit. While I have no desire or intentions of making money on shipping & handling, I can no longer afford to lose money. Tfore, my shipping & handling charges in the future will more accurately reflect actual charges. Whenever possible, I will combine shipping costs on additional items purchased. International bidders contact seller for shipping & handling costs prior to bidding. I inspect all items for damage prior to shipping. If I discover damage to a piece I did not see in the initial listing, I will disclose this information to the winning bidder & let them make the determination if they still wish to purchase the item or have their money refunded. Should an item be damaged in transit, I will fill out the necessary insurance paperwork & mail it, the insurance receipt and any supporting documentation to the receiver for filing. It will be the receiver's responsibility to file the claim with the post office or UPS. Be sure to keep all packing supplies until claim has been settled.
