This auction is for a vintage/antique Washburn Bowl Back Mandolin. No 22746 . (Also called a Taterbug Mandolin). The label inside reads "Highest Award World's Columbian Exposition Chicago, 1893 - Gold Medal and Diploma Antwerp, 1894" Model 1915 The instrument appears in exceptional condition for age. See pictures for detail. All parts are intact, including eight strings. Wood on the back and sides appear to be Brazilian rosewood. It is flawless and beautiful. Original case included. The case shows wear, but has done an excellent job in protecting this instrument. This instrument is from my great aunt's estate. Only one owner who cared for this instrument a great deal. Stored in a smoke-free home. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding. Shipping and handling for this delicate item is $40.00. This may appear high, but I guarantee that it will be packed exceptionally well and arrive in its present condition.
