This Auction is for a Wedding Ring Set (14K Wedding Ring and Platinum Engagement Ring) from the mid 1940's to early 1950's. The two rings have been soldered together. They are both about a size 5 3/4. T is one Sapphire and 5 genuine baguette Diamonds. The Engagement Ring has about a one Carat Sapphire in the center. However the Sapphire is not in very good condition. It had been worn everyday, and is chipped on three sides. My jeweler told me that it is a genuine Sapphire and is worth having it professionally restored and refaceted. Right now, it is ONE full carat - after restoration, it would be smaller, but larger than 1/2 carat. It will still look great in it's original setting. (It would cost $1,000.00 to replace the Sapphire with a new stone.) Besides the Sapphire, the Engagement Ring has two beautiful baguette diamonds (one of the baguettes could use a new prong). The Engagement Ring is also signed 90% IRID PLATINUM. You can only see the 0% and the word PLAT, but my jeweler told me the actual signature. The Wedding Ring is 14K White Gold. It's signed 14K on one side and the word HandKraft on the other. The Wedding Ring has three beautiful Diamond Baguettes, matching the Baguettes on the Engagement Ring. These Rings are from the Estate of a good friend. His parents traveled world-wide collecting historical and military memorabilia
