Vintage WENDELL AUGUST #835 Pine three-light candelabra c1940 Vintage Wendell August #835 Pine three-light candelabra c 1940 Vintage Wendell August Forge hand hammered aluminum three-light candelabra with Pine motif. Circa 1939-1942. The item measures about 13" long, 3-1/8" wide, and 4-1/4" maximum height. Style number 835 and Wendell August Forge "Inc." mark. Relatively scarce item. Item is in beautiful condition. I have several aluminum pieces from the same collector, with more to come, and they are all in fabulous condition. History : Wendell August Forge is America’s oldest and largest forge, producing hand-wrought ornamental metalware and elegant giftware in aluminum and other metals since 1923. The company was founded in Brockway, Pennsylvania. In 1930, a commission to create decorative aluminum gates and elevator doors for the Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) led to a focus in the production of hammered aluminum giftware. The historic facility was destroyed by fire in 2010 but the company is still “forging” on. Interesting Tidbit: Wendell August Forge ashtrays were used on the Hindenburg.
