Up for auction is this Vintage Classic West Bend Penguin Chrome Ice Bucket. I aquired this from my Grandmothers estate. Back In her Hey Days, she would host cocktail parties, with matching barwear, playing cards and drinking High Ball's. Unfortunately, I don't entertain at all, and its a shame that I have never used this wonderful bucket, so I would much rather have someone enjoy this great piece of American Art Deco History, than let it sit in my cubbard unappreciated. This is Classic Art Deco Piece that is more popular now than ever, with its beautiful ergonomic round shape, gleaming Chrome and thick Bakelite handles. It is in very good condition, the body has no highly visible scratches, you have to look very hard in bright light to see some fine ones, t are no dents, and the lid has some scratches, again no heavy scratches, but it has a bit more than the body of the bucket. But for its age, it is in amazing condition. The rubber gasket is fresh, no cracks breaks or dry rot. No damages to the bakelite handles or lid knob. I do notice in the close photo of the gasket, t is a bit of clear tape on the body of bucket, it is not damage, just tape. The ice bucket measures a full 8 & 1/2in. tall with the lid on, and it is 8in. wide, it can easily hold at least four or five cups of ice cubes, it is a nice solid substantial piece, very well made as was everything back in the day. If you are looking for that perfect Vintage look for your home bar, this Classic West Bend Penguin Ice Bucket has the right styling to achieve that perfect Retro look that is so popular now.
