~ SUPER WGP FEST #3 ~Day 2 RARE Vintage West German Pottery Vase - Gräflich Ortenburg 1007/10 Following the popularity of two pieces I listed last week I sourced another rare vintage example from the factory of Gräflich Ortenburg and here it is in the form of this exquisite squat jugvase. Measuring approximately 10cm in height and with a base diameter of 9cm, and as with the squat jugvase from last week, is decorated in a wonderful flambé glaze, this time in green, that is accentuated along all the edges as a brown tone (handle, rim etc). The same glazing extends to the interior. The piece is press marked to the base with the form number, as per the additional image. This piece, as with the first, probably dates to the 1950's or perhaps early 1960's. The piece is in mint condition. Formed 1946, in post-war Tambach, this factory is renowned for its quality of form and incredible glazing combinations. Another one of the 'hen teeth' I keep telling you about and proving that great things come in small packages. Perhaps not as striking as the first but still very desirable.Pieces by this factory are immensely scarce and rarely found or sold outside of Germany. Demand for good quality pieces such as this is very definitely on the rise as collectors see them, quite rightly, as investments for the future. WGP is going to be huge in the read more
