~ WGP FEST #5 ~ RARE Vintage West German Pottery Vase - Bückeburg Keramik Now here is a little gem, this small, but perfectly formed piece, is a rarity from the little known factory of Bückeburg Keramik. Measuring approximately 6.5cm in height and around 10cm at its widest point this piece has been decorated to a vivid, semi-matt blue tone subglaze with an application of black to the rim and base sections. This fusion has produced a light speckling that is evident on the shoulders of the piece.. It is of a squat globular form with an inverted base section. The base is print marked with the factory logo, as per the additional image. The piece is in overall excellent condition with just one very small chip the the very top rim. In my view this could be easily corrected or covered. Not a very well known factory here in the UK which is why I have classified it as rare. Founded in 1912, Fürst Adolf Werkstatte fur Kunstkeramik (to give them their proper name) existed in Bückesburg near Hannover for 6 decades, closing some time in 1972. Their chief designer was the very talented Helge Pfaff who's work (particularly her fish designs) are extremely desirable. Whilst they made some good vases they are better known for their ranges of retro and innovative wall plaques .This is not a piece you would readily find outside of Germany so I am sure read more
