A Vintage 'Western Electric' Telephone Bell Box. The box is wooden and finger jointedand has a label on the front that reads 'Western Electric Patented See Dates Inside'. There is also a paper label on the icside that reads '???4122 Issue - 1 Pat. App'd For In U.S.A.'. The bells and the connectors on top appear to be brass with one bell badly tarnished and the other bell with some light tarnishing and some scratching. The wooden box is not cracked or broken, but has 2 places in the finger joints that have some small wood chipping. The inner works of the bell appear to be complete, but I am not sure. The under side of the top and the bottom of the box are both stamped (into the wood ) '127 F'. I have not tried to hook the bell up so I do not know if it works or not. The box measures approx. 6 1/2"L x 5"W x 6"H ( to the top of the bells ) and weighs 3 1/2Lbs. This is a very interesting Vintage 'Western Electric' or 'Telephone Bell Box' collectible ( see pictures ). Questions or input welcome!
