Up for your consideration is this beautiful vintage Wilkinson Sword letter opener, made in England. It was issued in 1973 to commemorate 100 years of the RCMP. The piece measures 9 1/2" long and is wonderfully engraved as seen in the photos. I believe the handle is rosewood, it has brass accents and a very nice polished blade! The engravings on the blade read, BY APPOINTMENT TO HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II SWORD CUTLERS, WILKINSON SWORD, MADE IN ENGLAND. Then t is the R.C.M.P. engraving surrounded by intricate patterns. The sword comes in its own original velour lined presentation case. It has been in this case since it was issued, never been used. A superb hard to find collectable in mint condition!
