Vintage, Authentic WILLIE NELSON FOURTH OF JULY LIBERTY HILL,TEXAS CONCERT POSTER ~ PREMIERED IN 1975. This poster was to be used to promote the third annual Willie Nelson Fourth of July Picnic. See the April 2012 issue of Texas Monthly article on this event. The artist for the poster was Jim Franklin. Franklin began drawing armadillos in 1968 and it became a symbol of the hippie counterculture movement in Texas. Franklin's surrealistic armadillos and other art often appeared on the cover of Austin's underground newspaper, The Rag . The poster is in perfect condition - never used. The poster is part of my brother's personal collection. He was a part of the early years of Willie Nelson's career. Dimensions: length 17 1/2" x width 9 7/8"
