A Vintage wind-up 78 rpm "portable" record player in very good condition. There are no identifying marks (that I can find) to enable a dating, but this item was in our family prior to WW2, indeed it played during the blitz !!This particular player was used in a local theatre as a period piece prop.Mechanically, everything is in good working order, including the brake, and speed control. The turntable is quiet, with no rumble. It has a loud "period" sound when played on the only record that I have (included in the sale, as are 2 boxes of needles). The case could be improved, as itemised previously.The tone arm has a removable brush attachment to control any dust pick up.It's dimensions are : 15x18x11 inches W,D,H. and it weighs a substantial 10.5 kg.This item is offered as a local collection only due to it's weight, but if the winner would care to arrange a courier, I would be happy to assist.
