Cheese Mold from Zeeland-Holland , Michigan . Circa 1880s - 1890s. A primitive. The inside of the mold is white because of the whey bleaches the wood. After 1900 the started using stainless steel for cheese mold and the wood molds were seldom used. This mold is in excellent condition. It is approximately 8 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Made of sturdy wood with metal bands holding it together. The top rotates around the bottom base. Look around - you will not find many of these. This is a very rare and nice collectable; Museum quality. Buyer is responsible for optional insurance at $1.35 per $50. Be sure to check out my other antique items I am selling including a very old miniature barrel with steel straps.
