DESCRIPTION: Very nice vintage (ca. the 1950s - 1980s) architectural model of a farmhouse. Made primarily of wood, but the roofing "shingles" appear to be some type of paper, as is the "tar paper" around the foundation and the window "shutters." Window "glass" is some type of frosted plastic. A very elaborate model as the pics show, and entirely hand-assembled but I suspect a number of the elements were pre-made and purchased at the crafts store. For example, the chimneys are made of wood cut and stained to resemble bricks and this is probably pre-fab type work. Still a beautiful model and the product of countless hours of careful work and extremely decorative. A unique piece offered at a nice price with reasonable Best Offers also welcome. CONDITION REPORT: Capstone is missing from the large chimney (compare the tops of the two chimneys). There are several tears is some of the "tar paper" wrapping the foundation as shown in pic #2. There is an overall patina of age and wear and some general inconsistencies and imperfections consistent with this being a hand-made piece. The pics are very honest and show the condition well. SIZE: This is a VERY BIG model, about 16" long and 12" wide and 12" tall and I will need to use a lot of bubble wrap to get it to you safely. Please review shipping costs before purchasing.
