This early 1980's Cypress Gardens El Diablo model, with its grooved bottom, was purchased in one of the last years offered. The ski is approximately 67" long: manufacturer sold it as a 67" ski. This ski is easy to deep water start, is very forgiving in the turns, and hard to fall off of. Bindings are in very good condition. Rear binding has a non-slip toe pad. The fin is deep, but not adjustable.This ski has an average amount of rope burns and random scratches for a well used ski. Other than a touch up or two, the finish you see is the original. The ski has a successful repair. The ski suffered an approximate 10" crack running from the tip toward the front binding, after the warranty expired. I (the owner) repaired the crack, and used the ski for several years without any further failure of the ski or of the repair, before retiring it in 1987 for a more advanced ski. I repaired the crack using epoxy and several machine style screws that were placed laterally through the ski tip at 90 degrees to the direction of the ski. The crack was filled with epoxy, and clamped shut while it set. Several screw holes were then drilled from side to side clear through the ski.
