Vintage Wooden Painted Barber Pole. Beautiful traditional colors of red and blue candy striping on a white background encircle this very tall wood barber pole. (Three colors on the pole originated in the early 1900's.) Measures 43" tall and center pole portion is about 4" round. It is free standing with a wide turned wood base. The center pole appears to be staves that were put together and then hand planed into the round shape. It is hollow, not solid. I am not sure of the age and do not know if the date of '67 on the bottom is when it was made or when this barber acquired it. The paint is worn and adds to the vintage appeal.
