I do not know much about this scoop as far as its age or origin. I have had it so long (at least 30 years, and it was old then) that I can't remember how or why I have it, I've just always liked it. It is carved from one piece of wood and is fairly lightweight, about 1/2 pound. It is 11 1/2" long x 6" wide x 2 1/2" tall. T is a knot and a small crack in the bowl. T is a small chip in the handle that is not pictured , 1/8" x 3/8" long, running along the grain. I've tried to show the defects that to me are just signs of age and use. I do not know the wood. The floral painted areas are outlined with woodburned lines, a nice pyrographic detail, and are in good shape. A very pretty decorative object. It could be useful as well - your call. In addition to my ebay sales, I have owned a retail store (Designers Studio,a fine crafts gallery) in Saratoga Springs, NY for 24 years. Customer service is most important to me t as well as on ebay. I will list items accurately, and show all defects, if any. Please email any questions, I'll be glad to provide any info I might have forgotten to mention in the listing. Your 100% satisfaction is guaranteed.I can ship USPS or UPS, whatever you prefer. I get high quality shipping materials from my store, and I have alot of experience. Please use the shipping calculator to get your shipping costs unless the costs are listed as fixed. I will always try to minimize shipping costs, I don't like high shipping charges any more than you do!
