~Sorry~No PayPal as payment option!~ Hello & welcome to my auction! Featured today is a vintage, collectible wooden sewing notions holder that is surely a blast from the past! The exact age is unknown but believed to be from the 1930's/1940's era. This very unique "bird" is a thread holder~holding 6 spools of thread and a scissor holder forming the "beak" of the bird as shown in the photos. It is handmade & appears to be constructed of natural aged pine. It is a sculptured piece~I believe the term is "hand picked" or "hand tooled" with exquisite detailing and a "folk art" type appearance~see close up photos I have provided. It measures approximately 4 1/4 inches tall and is approximately 8 1/2 inches in total length. It has cleaned up nicely with Murphy's Oil Soap and is in very good vintage condition. T are a couple of small "nicks" in the wood noted~ including a spot on the tail as shown in the photo from age & wear~but nothing that would detract from the overall beauty of the piece! T is also some darkening of the aged wood in spots~which is certainly age appropriate and gives this collectible character!
