Wooden chest of woodworking tools. I know nothing of it's history, though a joiner has suggested it might have belonged to a ship's carpenter. It has a lock, but alas no key. The initials 'F.A.S ' are on the front of the chest. Tray is plywood. External dimensions 88cm x 28.5cm x 17cm. The saw s. Hand saw and two tenon saws, the smaller tenon saw has 'TYZACH' etched on the handle. One saw appears to be missing,one of the retaining clips has broken (see later).Pic ClA mitre clamp marked 'PATENT', a 'DORMER DRILLS British Made' drill guage, some unknown gadget, a soldering iron and pincersPic DR Brace- 'STANLEY Made in England', a small hand drill, hand auger with brush, a brush, 'CANNING 1258B Made in England'Pic SSThree spoke shaves, two of which have blades, the largest is engraved 'T.Egerton'. Three saw blocks? and something resembling a gougePic PlA Marples and Sons smoothing plane, a block plane engraved, 'A. Ravenscroft','Hields Nottingham' and 'A.Ounsworth'. 3 blades, one of which is 'COLQUHOUN AND CADMAN'.
