The ambiance is that of the past captured in an incredibly captivating wool northwest trade blanket. The thrill: its intriguing color hues, its historical value and the manufacturer the ever famous Shuler & Benninghofen of Hamilton , Ohio .

The Hamilton Ohio woolen factory: a mill that pride itself in being the rightfully family owned business all for three quarters of a century.

Sad to say, the woolen factory closed its doors under the Shuler & Benninghofen label in 1967, when it became affiliated with Orr Felt Company.

Leaving behind in its wake a much revered history and gorgeous (and somewhat) rare woolen trade blankets.

Penned to the pages of history as being one of the prominent manufactures: of the valued wool Indian trade blankets. Yesteryear stated Hamilton made Woolen blankets sold for a mere $7.50 a pair.

Being offered for a nod of excitement and consideration is an authentic vintage Mariposa wool N.W. trade blanket woven from the ever famous Shuler and Benninghofen mills in Hamilton , Ohio .

This incredible impressive wool blanket presents the impressive looks of its cousin: the Hudson Bay blanket.

This striking warm and cozy blanket not only was milled of the finest wool, it was designed for its impressive visual features. Its impressive four color hues against the backdrop of what I believe to be natural colored wool makes for a true work of vintage art-from the loom.

The impressive colors are: dusty charcoal black, progressive sunrise yellow, spring grass green and fall berry red. All the enriching colors make for a pattern of appeal and contentment.

This Shuler & Benninghofen woolen icon does come with its original weaver's tag, which is tattered but clearly identifiable. This intriguing blanket is being offered in used, but not abused condition. Meaning: due to its age, it is not engineering square. It is almost exact; however t are a couple of places it veers ever, ever so slightly on the very edge. I hesitate to even mention it, due to its inconspicuous nature.

The blanket also presents a few areas of thinning, but no holes.(view photo) I doubt that you could even find the areas, (2) if asked to. Towards the lower edge t are a couple of nearly invisible darkened spots, NOT MOLD OR MILDEW!

This intriguing piece of the past is an exciting 77x63 in size. I was alone in my efforts to measure this great blanket, so the size might vary plus or minus a tad.

The wool blanket does not present an age old odor or smoke smell, it truly appears to be a blanket that was taken care of and appreciated.

I would have been more pleased with taking the blanket out for filming, however winter was just delivered to our door step and we are surrounded by wet-heavy snow. The blanket is actually much more impressive than the photos present.

I did purchase this wool icon with the Orr Felt blanket, but I am keeping that treasure for my own use. (Plus it is mint green with tulips on it-my favorite) SORRY!

Without a doubt: you will be thrilled and impressed with your choice.
