Up for auction is a beautiful Swiss Army standard issue blanket in MINT / NEVER USED condition!! This awesome brown wool blanket with red stripes and white Swiss cross, measures 54" x 78" and weighs approx. five pounds. Serial Numbers: "30Z" woven in white lettering and "SCB42" woven in red lettering. T is also a round silver disc which is sewn into the blanket ~~ it is engraved on the front with a Swiss cross and "96997 E" ~ Reverse of disc is engraved with the letters "K.M.V." Unfortunately I do not know the significance of these numbers and initials, but it makes me believe that it is an original blanket rather than a reproduction. The original blankets were produced up until the 1940s by the Swiss company, "Pfungen". Traditionally, the white Swiss flag stands for freedom, honor, and fidelity. Today it has also come to represent neutrality and peace. I purchased this collectible blanket rolled up (photo) from an elderly woman, who apparently stored the blanket and never removed the blue satin ribbons which held the blanket roll in place. I had to remove the ribbons to inspect, photograph, and measure the blanket, and did my best to re-roll it, using the original ribbons to secure it. *If photos are blurred, please view on Google/Mozilla Firefox* **Shipped promptly from my smoke-free home to yours** ** Insurance is included in shipping fee**
