VINTAGE WROUGHT IRON CEILING LANTERN (LAMP), WITH THREE LARGE FLEURS DE LYS AND SCROLL BANDS WITH BALLS Excellent craftsmanship, all hand forged. Beautiful artistic design with excellent proportions. Found in France at an estate sale in the late 1960's. Was installed in a very old country house. Looks very beautiful and stylish, especially if used with an old style (carbon filament) bulb. Condition Details (please read carefully and check all pictures): In very good original condition with no cracks or repairs. Minor occasional surface corrosion. Solid, heavy and straight. Surfaces have been carefully cleaned but have not been repainted. We recommend to paint it to your liking , especially if you plan to use it outdoors. Electrification has been replaced with new US standard parts (old European parts included). We do not have Reproduction Carbon Filament Bulbs, but those are available on the web ( and others). Size and Weight: Overall approx. 8" (20.3 cm) wide and 12" (30.5 cm) high with chain and mounting plate. Fleur de Lys ornaments are 6-3/4" (17.2 cm) high and 4-1/4" (10.8 cm) wide. Balls are between 7/8" (2.2 cm) and 5/8" (1.6 cm) diameter. Top ring is 2-3/4" (7 cm) diameter. Mounting plate: 2-3/4" by 2-3/4" (7 by 7 cm) wide w/ mounting holes at 1-7/8" by 1-7/8" (4.8 by 4.8 cm). Heavy weight: approx. 4 lbs (1.8 kg). Safely packed shipping weight: 7 lbs (3.2 kg).
