This is a vintage felt World War I US Army CAMPAIGN HAT dating between 1916-1920. It is dark olive brown in color, has four ventilation holes on each peak, 5 rows of stitching around the edge of the 3" brim. It has metal grommets on the brim for the chin strap (which is not included.) The one inch ribbon around the hat has alternating thick and thin ribs and also has a bow on one side. Inside t is a textured leather sweat band. Underneath the band is the tell tale sign this hat is from WWI. T is a white tag marked United Hatters of North America, Registered, Union Made. It pictures two hands shaking superimposed over a globe with crossed US flags at the sides. The band is stamped "Ferry Hat Mfg. Co., Contract No. 219-N, New York." T is another stamping that is too blurred to read. T is also a tag with the size which is 7 3/8. The hat is in very good shape, some tears and stains in the outside ribbon, the felt is very good shape with uniform coloring and the leather sweatband is in very good shape. Measures approximately 14" from front to back and about 5 ¾" high measured from the top of the brim.
