Up for auction is this VINTAGE WWII 506th PIR "EASY COMPANY" M1 HELMET with chinstrap. During the D-Day Operation the Parachute Infantry Regiments of the 101st Airborne Division marked the sides of their helmets with distinctive symbols from playing cards. The 501st PIR used a diamond, the 502nd PIR a heart, the 506th PIR a spade, and the 327th GIR a club. The famous Company "E" also known as Easy Company was a company in the 506th PIR. Easy Company was immortalized in the Stephen Ambrose book Band of Brothers . The Helmet has no cracks, dings, or damage. Overall in very good condition and an A+ for any serious collector.
