This item is an Early Vintage Fancy World War II Era Silver Mounted Signed Crockett Bit and it comes to you in excellent minus condition. Minus because of some minor plating loss and light pitting. Due to some past use, the only heavier pitting is on the low port and inside of shank w low port mounts. Nothing broken! Nothing missing! Nothing repaired! 100% Original! All silver mountings are tight and intact! The mouthpiece of this old beauty measures about 5 1/4" wide, shanks measure about 7 inches, from back of shanks to center of cross bar measures about 8" and inside of shank is marked, "CROCKETT". This is an old nickel silvered, sweet iron bit with a low port and outside of both shanks and top of cross bar have been silver mounted and skillfully carved by a real craftsman. It sports 5 curved shanks with 1/2 inch diameter silver conchos, 2 inch long silver side mounts and rare 3 1/2" silver mount on top of cross bar. It also has been set up with loose rings for reins.
