This uniform -consisting of coat and pants only- is in excellent condition given the age and is all original. It is a heavy wool material, fully lined and beautifully constructed, has all buttons -including the suspender buttons on the slacks- and not one single label of any sort. This was my Dad's uniform and not once in the 40-some years I loved the man did he talk about his time in the war. I am not sure what the stripes mean but his discharge paper says "Promoted to Private First Class, 1Nov42" and that he was honorably discharged "upon report of Medical Survey for disability" in May of 1944. Typical for bureaucratic accounting t are contradictions. On the back side of the form, which has the heading "MILITARY HISTORY", it says " Wounds received in service: None". And, w it says " Battles, engagements, skirmishes, expeditions: Participated in the defense of Guadalcanal from 17Jan43 to 9Feb43." - two lines above that it says " Foreign service: ... Guadlacanal, BSI, 17Jan44-12May44." Not to be disrespectful, but that is pretty funny. If the winning bidder has interest in having this historical document to accompany the uniform, I will consider it: make me an offer.As t are no labels I do not know what size it is. But, the female mannequin used in some of the photos is smallish and the waistband on the slacks indicates a very slender
