BEEHIVE BRASS CANDLESTICK

Up for auction is a beautiful brass candlestick made by Virginia Metalcrafters in Waynesboro, Virginia. It has a wide base and a slender "beehive" style stem. It stands about 9" tall and the round base is 5 3/4" wide. The bottom of the base is marked with the VMC logo and the number "5-70". It also has an oval-shaped logo that I'm not familiar with containing the letters "ASO". The candlestick is made of solid polished brass and is heavy.
In case you're not already familiar with Virginia Metalcrafters, they were in business for more than 100 years before they closed their doors in 2006. They were known throughout the world for their high quality metal products and for manufacturing faithful reproductions of rare pieces for Colonial Williamsburg. Condition of this collectible candlestick is EXCELLENT. It's shiny and bright with just a few light surface scratches. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I think you'll be very pleased.
If you collect Virginia Metalcrafters items, or you're in the market for a quality brass candlestick, don't miss your opportunity to bid on this one. I can't find any others quite like it on e-bay or elsew on the internet. My start price of only $9.99 (WITH NO RESERVE) is a ridiculous bargain and intended to spark interest. Well, it's no wonder I couldn't identify the other logo. I was looking at it upside-down. An alert e-bayer told me that the logo is "OSV", which stands for Old Sturbridge Village, located in Massachusetts. Apparently, the candlestick was made for them. It's supposedly referred to as a "17th Century Huguenot Candlestick". For more information on Old Sturbridge Village, please see their web site at: /
