VIRGINIA WOOLF, 'A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN', 1929, true 1st. PUBLISHING DETAILS: A lovely copy of this true first edition, published by Leonard and Virginia Woolf at the Hogarth Press in 1929. 172 pages. Size; 18 x 12 cms (7" x 5"). Weight; 190g (7 ozs). CONDITION: I would rate this as very good plus. The original brown cloth covers are clean and fresh, with the gilt titling to the spine still bright and with just minor bumping to the corners (see photo). The binding remains tight and secure throughout. The text is clean, bright and free from foxing. There is offsetting to the end free papers but no inscriptions. All in all, this is a particularly good example of the true first edition of this most collectible Virginia Woolf title. THE BOOK: "Women, then, have not had a dog's chance of writing poetry.
