The Virginian (Paramount, 1929). Window Card (14 X 22 ). Directed by Victor Fleming, this early sound western was based on the novel by Owen Wister and starred Gary Cooper as a Wyoming ranch foreman who runs foul of the sinister Trampas, played by Walter Huston. Cooper spoke one of the most oft quoted lines of Hollywood history in the scene where he s playing poker and gets insulted by one of the gamblers . Cooper places his gun on the table then stares down his opponent with the line, If you want to call me that, smile. There are small holes, one fold line and one slight tear. The poster has been professionally restored, minimizing these defects. Fine/Very Fine on Paper.
