VNTG SILVER RELIGIOUS CHARM BRACELET~MADONNA with ROSES Vintage religious sterling silver bracelet consisting of nicely cast links in the form of roses with a charm that features the Virgin Mary praying for humanity. The specific medallion, known as the Medal of Immaculate Conception, was first designed by in Paris in 1830 by Catherine Laboure and was inspired by a dream she had of the Madonna. Mary is surrounded by a invocation in French reading "Marie concue sans peche priez pour nous qui avons recours a vous" (Mary, you who have been conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you). On the charm's flip side the letter "M" is surmounted by a cross with the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary above and below it. Note that this is a double-sided bracelet with various religious figures showing on the back of each link. SIZE/WEIGHT: 7 7/8" of wearable length by 1/2" wide; charm is 1/2" wide and will hang 1" off the chain; 17.1 grams HALLMARKS/DATE: "STERLING" on the back of one link; date difficult to determine but propably 1950s-60s CONDITION: excellent vintage Thank you very much for your interest - please take a look at my other items and make sure you add me to your favorite sellers list !
