Voigtlander Kontursucher / Kontur finder RARE Version Description On offer is a rather unique, and rare , Voigtlander accessory from the 1950's. This is the earliest version and so rare, I'm told, that it is not even in the Voigtlander literature. As far as I've seen in my limited travels around the world, no other manufacturere offered such a thing for their cameras. Voigtlander offered these in 35mm, 6x6, and 6x9 formats. The principle involved is that when mounted on your camera, looking through this ocular, allows you to see better framing / frame lines than by looking through the smaller ocular eyepieces of the 1950s. While Zeiss tried to achieve the same thing with their Albada finders, I think Voigtlander's solution was a tad more unique... and has much better longevity that the Zeiss solution!Ones does need to keep BOTH eyes open when looking through this unit.... kind of weird as so many of us are used to closing one eye when taking pictures.... so you kinda have to force yourself to keep both eyes open. What's really weird is the view you then achieve by looking through this device. Your brain actually does the seeing by putting what you see through the unit and the general view of the other eye together into a frame. Sorry for the weird / confusing description, but... you gotta try this... its cool!! THIS particular Kontursucher
