Handmalerei (handmade) Antique Von Schierholz Porcelain Clock Cherubs made in Plaue in Thunguria. J. Kaiser GEM Villingen GEM No (0) Jewels unadjustable clock. Circa 1914-1930's according to mark information available. The artistry and craftsmanship in this clock is astounding. There was a bidding war over this one at auction. They are really a pleasure to gaze upon. This thing just bowls me over every time I look at it. These rarely survived completely intact due to all of the delicate artwork. This one is in really good condition, and as you can see from the pictures. I tried the clock and it ticked along keeping good time. There may have once been an extra flower on the left surrounding the clock although no one can be sure of this due to the unique handmade artistry. The very end of the rear leg of the lower cherub (which is not visible unless viewed from the rear) is incomplete The shear is very clean. Otherwise, I can find no flaws. You can make your own judgment from the photos. They are small imperfections that in my opinion do not detract significantly from the clocks value or desirability because each one is a unique work of art, and the dozen or so people bidding on it certainly didn't think so.
