This is essentially a home practice amp designed to simulate the unique sound of Queen's Brian MAy PhD who has always used VOX amps with a preamp decay unit. This one was made in 2003 and was designed with built in decay and top boost . It has Gain, volume and Tone controls to allow you to play with the tonal mix and gain can be switched for low to high to go from overdrive to distortion. The real beauty of this amp is that it has an external speaker out and a booster out that overrides the built in speaker so that it can be used as a pre amp or amp head for any larger (and better quality) speaker. This then allows you to hook up and really deliver a genuine Brian May sound. The booster out put by-passes all the other controls apart from the gain so you can use your own foot switch to go between clean and overdrive on your main amp. Basically it can deliver a really fantastic Rock/Blues overdriven fuzz box sound. Any one thinking of trying some queen covers really should give this a try and it will work equally well with muse who try their hardest to "emulate" the Queen sound. Don't get me wrong this is an ok practice amp in it's own right but the brilliance of the electronics really come in to there own when connected to a large speaker cab.
