Amazing Vintage L.L. Bean Leather Bag

This is a seriously sweet old bag that we purchased from a local estate. Circa 1930s, pre-WWII vintage and quality, hand-made by L.L. Bean from from a very unique saddle leather in a rich, rustic brown color. Leather is very thick, yet remarkably soft and supple--simply beautiful. Interior is unlined, with a genuine 2-layer Bean canvas and leather bottom. Zipper is a large, genuine cut-brass triple-marked Talon and it's perfect. Handles are classic, wrapped leather and t are brass D-rings for adding a shoulder strap, but it does not come with one. Bottom is protected by six brass feet studs and we'll send it along with the original, period zipper lock which functions as a neat old pull (needs a key).

Tag is one of the earliest and most collectible tags, jet black with signature gold cursive script L.L. Bean Inc. Freeport, ME. Approximate size medium - large: 20" x 11.5" x 11.5" or so.

Bag is is excellent, near minty condition throughout for its age, with a really nice patina and no significant wear, or issues at all--the interior looks like new (no funky smells/odours). Please supersize the photos to see true condition. Definitely a cool old piece for a travel carry-on, overnight bag, weekender, hunting/fly fishing duffel, gym/workout bag (don't be afraid to use it), and it looks fantastic on display with vintage hunting/outdoor woods decor...
