Watt Pottery "Moon & Stars" Pie Plate This vintage pie plate is 8-3/4" in diameter when measured from the outer edges, 8-1/4" in diameter when measured from the inner edges, 1" deep, and 1-1/2" tall. The rim of the pie plate is decorated with 2 vertical lines about 1/8" apart spaced at intervals of a little over an inch. The slanted side of the pie plate is decorated with small crescent-shaped moons measuring 1/4" wide and 3/8" tall, divided by 5 vertical lines of varying height. Possibly due to its short height, this pie plate has none of the "stars" usually found on pieces of this pattern. The plate's interior, exterior, and underside are finished with an uneven, mottled green glaze. Doubtlessly used many times over the past 80+ years to serve hungry families, this old pie plate boasts a few scars - three short separation lines on the rim (these do not go all the way through, and do not travel down into the side), and crazing of the glaze. It also has bits of excess "clay" scattered overall (from production). Carefully hand washed and towel dried, this immaculate pie plate will arrive ready to display. Shipping Information Durable, but not indestructible, this heavy stoneware pie plate will be swaddled in bubble wrap, and double boxed, with sheets of 1" Styrofoam placed between the 2 boxes.
