1940's STERLING CORO COROCRAFT LYRE HARP BROOCH designed by Adolph Katz from the "Carnegie Hall" musical instruments collection MADE IN THE USA This auction features a stunning intricately designed Lyre Harp Brooch made of gold plated Sterling Silver. Designed by Adolph Katz, premier jewelry designer for CORO, this brooch is from the the famous "Carnegie Hall" musical instruments jewelry series. The "Carnegie Hall" series was produced to the highest standards of quality - that have always been a Corocraft hallmark. Adolph Katz was issued Patent Number 147183 for this brooch on July 22, 1947. I will include a photocopy of the patent information to the winning bidder. This exceptional piece measures 2" x 2 1/2" and has beautiful red and aqua blue rhinestones accented by clear rhinestones. There are no missing stones, and the wire strings appear to be straight and even. All rhinestones are nice and bright. Total weight is 29.6 grams. Under close inspection with a jewelry loupe, I noticed some slight wear to the gold plated finish on the front side of the brooch. It is signed Corocraft Sterling with the Pegasus horse. I have provided photographs from every angle in an attempt to do this magnificent piece the justice it deserves. Please view all six close-up photos for further analysis, as they are an important part of the description. read more
