Baseball gloves of the 1940s were far different from those seen today. 1940s baseball gloves featured minimal padding, and most importantly, were of a unique "split finger" design. This Vintage 1940s DENKERT CHET LAABS SPLIT FINGER LEATHER BASEBALL GLOVE is in very good condition, with some light age darkening to the palm, and with some age cracking to the leatherette piping (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the glove is in fine shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or damage to the tough genuine leather construction. It's marked "Denkert G55" at the palm, and is stamped "CHET LAABS" along with his script facsimile at the pinky. It features a fully intact double tunnel web, bears a genuine leather lining, and sports a fully functional "star and wreath" metal button wrist strap. A fine example of a Vintage 1940s DENKERT CHET LAABS SPLIT FINGER LEATHER BASEBALL GLOVE.
