This is a ceramic pottery hand-made? beer mug from Guatemala.It is vintage, and was purchased by the original owner in 1978, before the earthquake.It is 5" High, 3.5" in diameter at the base, 2.25" in diameter at the top.It has a nice big man's handle, with a thumb-rest at the top.The sides are decorated in traditinal relief pictures of Guatemalan figures.On the side of the mug is stamped the capital letters MP, an dthe words Plaze Inn stamped below it.The bottom rim of the mug has GUATEMALA spelled out in capital letters.The bottom of the mug says: Ceramica Mendez Ruiz producto centro de americano hecho en GuatemalaVery cool mug! I bet it chills well and keeps a beer nice and cold :)I also have a vintage Guatemalan wool blanket listed, and other cool items from around the world!Note: A little about the owner, for those who like to know the history of EVERYTHING :)I bought quite a few Estate items recently from an 88 year old man, who was downsizing after his wife went into a nursing home.He had spent over 30 years in the military and traveled all over the world.
