Here is a great platinum ladies wristwatch - It works great and was professionally serviced - cleaned and appraised July 27, 2010 - (and never used since that date) I am selling this for a family member and so I will rely on the new professional appraisal to describe it ( I blackened out her name on the picture here - but if this is sold the name and appraisal will follow the watch there are no markings on original paper) ...... appraisal -quote: " Ladies Platinum Hamilton Watch ; 17 jewel mechanical movement , cream color dial with numbered markers , platinum case and basket , diamond bezel , diamond lugs , diamond links , fold over style clasp with diamonds , and a curb link safety chain .There are twenty - eight single cut round diamonds weight approx. 02ct each (1.7mm) with an average VS2 clarity and G color. Each watch lug contains nine round diamonds - The diamonds vary in size from .05ct (2.5mm) to .01ct (1.2mm) with an approx total weight of .18ctw (per side).The watch band has five diamonds in each connecting end , one diamond in each of the thirty -three links, and two diamonds in the clasp. The diamonds at the connecting ends and in the links weigh approx .01ct (1.3mm). Watch case and bracelet (less movement) weight 8.7 dwt. Aprox total diamond weight 1.86ctw. Approx replacement value: $4,000.00 " ... * By my count there are 40 diamonds ! * 40 !** The weight of the entire watch is 17.4 grams or 0.61 ounces ( oz.)The back is marked: " 900 Platinum 100 and tritium " The scrap value of platinum has gone up quite a lot in value since this date (7/27/10) - but if you scrap it - they won't give you anything for the diamonds - and this is such a beautiful watch why destroy such beautiful craftmanship and all those precious diamonds !? (so if you want to scrap the platinum - TAKE THE CUT DIAMONDS OUT!! Use them in a ring or whatever - Just save those diamonds and get rid of the platinum - (My guess is the scrap value is about what Platinum is going for is about what I am asking - check with professionals about this as I am not a jeweler or precious metal's dealer ...) I noted a tiny scratch in the crystal face - The inside width is about a 5 1/2" - 5 3/4" circumference ... WORKS GREAT - Looks BEAUTIFUL and It is very CLEAN!
