Designed to not leak when in your pocket, a huge problem with previous fountain pens. This particular piece dates to the 1910's to 20's. I had a tough time finding the particular model number, as I couldn't find any exactly like it in my research. The pen is a rarer and higher priced "chased" model and is made of vulcanite.
