Antonio Pineda Taxco Sterling & Moonstone Necklace
Description: A vintage and absolutely magnificent sterling silver & moonstone necklace from Antonio Pineda,Taxco, Mexico, c.1950's - 60's. It looks like a string of cresting waves: 15, 1" long 'C'-shaped swirls of sterling, capped with bezel set, 76 x 25mm (3/4" x 1/4") oval cabochon cut moonstones.Each moonstone is gorgeous - milky white and opalescent with a glint of pale blue in certain lights. Beautifully constructed; the necklace doesn't lie flat, but is slightly sloped to fit the curve of the neck. Substantial weight. See photos... Dimensions: 1/2" wide. It's difficult to measure the length because it doesn't open out to straight line - it's curved to fit the neck - but around the inside it's 14 1/2" and around the outside it's 16". Markings: stamped on closure: the "Antonio Taxco" crown; the eagle mark with a "3"; "Hecho En Mexico" (partially run off the side); t's also something stamped beneath this which has partially run off the bottom and looks like "970"? See photos. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No breaks, splits or pitting in the silver, and all the moonstones are intact and lustrous. No repairs or restorations. The clasp works well, sometimes needing a moment of maneuvering to open. The silver could possibly use a spot cleaning (for light tarnish) in some areas. Domestic Shipping: I normally ship via USPS Priority Mail (approx. 2-3 day transit time). For heavier / larger items I give an option for USPS Parcel Post (approx. 5-9 business days). I require Delivery Confirmation on every domestic item I send out. This lets both seller & buyer track their item in transit, and gives the Post Office a way to find it should it get lost. ***An additional shipping charge of $1.00 is added to all items shipped via USPS Parcel Post, to cover the cost of additional packing expenses and Delivery Confirmation. Insurance: $201.00 and up insured items require a signature (they will not be just left at your door) $50.00-$200.00 insured items will be left at your door. If you'd prefer to sign for your item, please let me know before paying for your item - Signature Confirmation will have to be added. International Shipping (including Canada): USPS First Class Mail International: For items 4 lbs and under.Transit time varies, depending on the country it's being sent to, but usually a minimum of 10 business days.
