VILLAGE BLACKSMITH VINTAGE BOOKEND This auction is for a single vintage bronze bookend entitled, "The Village Blacksmith". This piece dates back to the late 1920's or early 1930's. Inscribed on front: "The Village Blacksmith". Inscription on back: 100 in a circle. Intricate design of a blacksmith or farrier shoeing a horse in a stable with two children watching. It has incredible detail with a wonderful three dimensional look. It measures 5.25" tall and 3.625" wide. It is 2.25" deep from front to back at base. This piece is quite heavy; its actual weight unboxed is approximately 2.5 lbs. Manufacturer unknown. Good condition except one side of the base has a chip out of it. I have not cleaned this piece at all; the vintage look seems to add to its character. It could be used as a bookend, paperweight, or just a decorative piece.
