Rattle Your Jewelry, not your piggybank !

Magnificent figural HAND HOLDING faux PEARL pin signed Deja Original (the Original part is partially rubbed off). This company was actually known as Deja Costume Jewelry owned and run by Solomon Finkelstein. I can say with absolute certainty that this pin was made either in the years 1939 or 1940. The reason being is that on January 17, 1941 DuJay, Inc to Solomon to court over the use of the name Deja and won! Hence the jewelry was marked Reja and Reja sterling. Unfortunately the company went bankrupt in 1952!

Lucky for us that we then can enjoy this spectacular vintage costume jewelry figural pin today! Measuring 1 5/8th inches long and 1 inch wide, it is lovely sculpted Hand holding a large bezel set faux Pearl! The color of the hand is black and it has been enameled. You can see the loving detail work that went into this piece in the fingernails at end of hand. The pearl is very beautiful and a full 1/4 of an inch in diameter.

At the other end of the pin is the equally stunning and very beautiful Cuff that is done in a gold tone metal and 7 bezel set clear diamond rhinestones! Against the black the gold and rhinestone combo is so brilliant and flashy. It is a perfect balance of glitz and simple glamour! On back, more gold tone metal with makers signature and the working c clasp pin.

Condition of pin is very nice for something close to SEVENTY years old! T is wear to end of pin on the underside w the pearl has been bezel set: some tarnishing in the crevices that a gold tone metal spot underneath has been worn to the silver pot metal underneath. T also is a little bit of wear on the fingers black enamel but both of these flaws do not diminish the stunning beauty of this important piece of vintage costume jewelry. It verifies, if anything, the age of said piece.

If you love Hand Jewelry, early signed pieces or just want a very unique look this is the pin for you! Good luck bidding and please email any questions, large or small as we love to answer them all!
