Vintage FLORENTINE painted/gold gilt WOOD/WOODEN TRAY Italy Offered VINTAGE/ANTIQUE FLORENTINE HAND PAINTED GOLD GILT WOOD TRAY from ITALY The oblong tray has scalloped edges and handles. Italianate geometric ~ fleur-de-lis and border designs are hand carved in the wood. The elaborate designs are hand painted with striking and brilliant colors and embellished with tons of gold on the surface. The underside of the tray has a quilt or diamond pattern etched in the wood and an all-over gold gilt finish. Measures 16 ½ inches long from handle -to-handle. Tray area ~ 14 inches long by 8 ¾ inches wide. IDENTIFICATION ON BOTTOM: Original sticker ~~ MADE IN ITALY ~~ITALIA ~~ #728 Etched in the wood ~~ MADE IN ITALY Tray is in excellent condition considering its age. The colors are bright and clean. The gold gilt finish had retained its luster with no worn spots. The original sticker and etched mark are intact. Taken from the china closet and present to eBay for the first time.
