PLEASE NOTE - THIS AUCTION WILL END ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16TH AND PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20TH IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET YOUR PACKAGE IN THE MAIL BEFORE I LEAVE FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY (unless you want to wait until I get back after the New Year to receive you purchase). ~~~~~~ This deer or doe or be ornament were found at an estate sale I attended not long ago. The woman hosting the sale said this ornament (and the huge collection surrounding it) belonged to her late uncle. He loved to travel and loved collecting ornaments. She said he had so many that he had a tree in just about every room of this large house the estate sale was held in (t were A LOT of ornaments t And, she said, he took very good care of his treasures (and I see he did), that they were very old and that these came from Italy. This ornament is in fine condition although, as you can see in the photos, t are a few flecks missing at her tail, on her legs and just to the left of her nose. I don't see any other issues with her, she looks just beautiful and oh-so-delicate to me. Her delicate hooves come almost to a point and they are in tact. She has white fur on her head, slightly matted but I think she looks marvelous. On the silvertone cap it is marked MADE ITALY . She stands about 5" high and about 4" across. I believe she is made of Mercury glass. Also, I wanted to mention that I have listed some other ornaments, purchased at the same estate sale, of the same style but different design. So, if you like this type of thing (or know someone who does, they'd made great gifts) and want to add another 1 or 2 or 3, I will gladly ship everything together to save you some money. Because of the delicate nature of this piece, I highly recommend insurance for this purchase. I will take care in packing but at this time of year with all those packages coming and going, I think it's money well spent. But, I will not require it, I leave the decision up to you. I'm going to let the photos do the rest of the talking. My apologies for the glare my camera's flash has given washing some of the color (white gets washed out so easily).
