Vintage Quimper Pottery 11" Faience Decorative Platew/ Breton Peasant Musicians Playing Bagpipes and Horn A big painted china plate made by the Quimper Pottery company in France. It's 11" from top to bottom, a half inch less across the middle. The plate is sunken in the center, overall 1¼" high. Big enough for a dinner plate, but made to hang. It's in excellent condition, very shiny, with production glaze pops and pinhole marks, no chips, cracks, or crazing . I haven't got a handle on how old it is, that pottery has been in business a very long time. The excellent condition probably belies the age. It's marked HB Quimper on the back with some simple marks below it that may be a date code. The only wear is on the bottom rim. There are three kiln marks on the back that appear to have been filled in. There's an old piece of jute string through some holes in the rim. I'm used to packing fragile items and allow room for plenty of packing material. Other things for auction right now, c lick here to see them. Shipping costs will be paid by the winning bidder. Thanks for looking. I take Paypal and other payment options. Email for details.
