ITEM DESCRIPTION Offered is a GORGEOUS VINTAGE Traditional JAPANESE GEISHA DOLL, made in JAPAN (not the cheap CHINESE repros)! This Geisha doll is VERY BEAUTIFUL. The pictures don't do justice to her BEAUTY! She is donned with a beautiful GOLD designed kimono. It consist of three layers of high quality Japanese Chirimen Silk.Her posture is in a dancing position, which is very GRACEFUL! Her face, hands, and feet are painted with Gofun (white paint made out of crushed oyster shells), and her eyes are made out of glass carefully inserted. Her dark colored Obi is extremely exquisite, draped carefully behind her waist, and her hair styled very intricately with accessories carefully placed upon it. Checkout her little feet peeking out from underneath her dress. JUST EXQUISITE!!! The gold threading found all over the fabric of her kimono & obi shines gorgeously under any kind of light. Measurements: 9.25" tall, 4.5" wide, 3.5" deep Condition is extremely good. T is hardly any sign of heavy wear, and fabric is still vibrant in color. The DETAILS are astonishing!! She is permanently affixed to a black painted wooden stand (paint has some wear). The tradition of Japanese GEISHA Doll making is quickly becoming an extinct form of art. It generally takes the artist about a year to complete a doll. These dolls are VERY EXPENSIVE in Japan.
